Case Study

Prior to working with InPhase Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells already had an improvement management framework in place. Based on project management theory, they had developed their Exceptional People, Outstanding Care Improvement Programme (EPOC IP) model. They were looking for one single system that would support them in strategy deployment, continuous improvement projects and action alignment. The previous project management system they were using didn’t support this integration for the efficiency they required.

Their goal was to have one system in place that would take an improvement strategy from the top-level of the Trust and cascade it down to the Trust’s front-line teams. The teams could then complete their relevant actions and the continuous improvement cycle would then work its way back up to the top level, providing evidenced, reliable assurance that improvement is taking place.

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells selected and implemented a combination of modules from the InPhase Oversight suite to support them in their continuous improvement management. InPhase’s suite of over 20 integrated, customisable and fully configurable apps create a triangulated management system that supports Trusts establish the golden thread of improvement project strategy deployment, and continuous improvement cycle of Plan Do Study Act. InPhase Oversight takes the strategy for improvement and deploys it down the organisation and presents it in the frame of reference of the staff member looking at it.

“So the strategy deployment drills down to a very concrete set of actions that you can then deploy across the organisation as a set of corporate projects, but also, specifically within each division. Staff have a very specific set of actions that they need to be undertaking and acting on, to prove against those metrics that have been agreed upon. So, we also take that same philosophy and apply it to a set of objectives that are measurable that everybody should be working towards.”

This way, all team members are clear on the Trust’s vision of improvement, know what they need to deliver which encourages the whole organisation to pull in the same direction towards quality improvement. InPhase Oversight provides the ability to break down strategy into strategic themes and deploy them throughout the Trust, as well as create aligned actions that drive out waste and focus on the most impactful work, for the ultimate traction towards their improvement vision.
